2020-2021 Parent Surveys are ready. We ask that all parents/guardians take a couple minutes to complete the survey. Surveys are used by our school improvement team and school board to help guide decisions to better our school. Your voice matters!
Survey links can also be found on the Cavalier School Website under Student and Parent Links.
1:1 Chromebook Technology Initiative: The information below will be sent home with each student in grades 6-12 today and is also available in the Student and Parent link document section on the school app/website.
Earlier this year, the Cavalier School Board approved a plan for each student in grades 6-12 to have their own Chromebook to use in and out of school. Students in grades 1-5 will also have their own Chromebook, but will not be allowed to take the device home unless the student is in distance learning mode.
We have finally received our shipment of devices to allow this to take place. As part of the plan, students that need a Chromebook, will pay a $25 device fee each year. Upon receipt of payment and signing the user agreement by the student and family, the school district will begin issuing these Chromebooks in the upcoming weeks.
We understand that some students already have their own Chromebook/laptop and may not need a school-issued Chromebook. These students would not be expected to pay the $25 fee.
We would like the device user agreement signed and payment made by Tuesday, November 3rd at the Cavalier School office. The device user fee can also be paid online using the e-Funds link on the school website/app.
During the week of November 9-13, Chromebooks will be issued to students. During this week, the expectation is that every student in grades 6-12 will bring their Chromebook or laptop with them to class each day.
Please contact the school if you have questions about the fee. We are excited about this 1:1 technology initiative as being helpful in providing the 21st century education that is the expectation of our school district

We currently have 6 active positive cases of COVID-19 with people affiliated with our school. 4 of these 6 cases are all from the same cluster of people, of which 3 were already on quarantine since last week. One positive is a person that was already on quarantine as well. The other positive case is not related to any others. We are monitoring cases in our area and have daily conversations with Pembina County Public Health to gain guidance on any changes we need to make with education in our school district. Currently, we plan to continue with in-person learning. Decisions could change depending on many factors in our area. Please contact the school office with any concerns or questions.
Due to the current COVID-19 affects in our area, we have decided to make changes to our Parent-Teacher conferences plan. All parent-teacher conference will be conducted virtually. There will be NO face-to-face Fall conferences. Grade 9-12 conferences will again be student-led. Conferences will be held during the week of November 2nd thru November 5th. Teachers (homeroom and WIN teachers) will contact parents/guardians prior to this week to set up a time to meet virtually with your child's teacher. The meetings will be conducted using a Google meet or telephone. We would like to thank everyone for your flexibility and continued support of our school district through these tough times.
