It was awesome having some NDSU Bison football players hand out ice cream for our Elementary ABC countdown letter "I" day! The students loved it🤘💚💛
I've been so excited for this moment, and it is finally here! Mia was a reader, and I could see that week one. However, I don't think she felt the same way. When she was a little over 600,000, she mentioned she'd like to get her million but could never do it. I was like...why not? Are you serious? At the rate you are reading, it is very doable. So, off she went. The last two weeks have been nonstop reading because she WANTED it that bad. She could sense it becoming a reality. Her determination is why I do what I do. Congrats to Mom as well because it helps so much to have a lifelong reader modeling these habits in everyday life. :)

There are still spots open on both the football and basketball cheer teams for next year! However, the football cheer team needs to be determined as soon as possible due to uniform orders. No try-out is required this year and the football cheer schedule can work around other fall sports schedules. Contact Miss Hunter by May 1 if interested in either football or basketball cheer!
Eight...Nine...and partners in crime! The eighth graders had to match the double threat that seventh grade put out last week. Ruby and Zander tipped the scale and added another two million to our grand total. These two have taken multiple reading challenges throughout their three years of middle school, and I will miss that drive next year. Congrats to these students and their families for demonstrating strong habits that will surely turn into lifelong rewards!
Elementary Track & Field information!
The little red truck will be pulling into Cavalier soon. This year's Missoula Children's Theater production will be Jack and the Beanstalk. Auditions: May 13th. Shows: May 17th & 18th.

To kick off our Animal Science Unit, Intro to Ag students got hands on experience with a cow-calf pair exploring external anatomy. Students also looked at common calving supplies and learned their uses. Thank you Josh Zaharia for taking time to share with the class.
April 11: Not ONE, but TWO...million that is! Seventh graders Logan Thompson and Makayla Hager both achieved their Million Word status today! Both of these students have become voracious readers before my very eyes since entering middle school two years ago. Their overall academic growth is proof that reading practice pays off, and it has been such a joy watching it unfold. Congrats to these students and their families on a job well done! Proud of you!
Congratulations to Cavalier's hs music students on a great day at region 3 small groups music contest. They brought home 10 stars including 2 Outstanding Performance awards.
Cavalier High School was ranked number 11 for the best public high schools in North Dakota. The majority of the score is based off of academics, culture, clubs, resources, and community surveys. Thank you community, staff, and students for making Cavalier Public School great!

For the past few weeks intro to ag students have been working on building our tower garden (thank you Public Health!) and getting our sprouted greens planted. The 5th graders love having the unit housed in their classroom!
Thank you Jackie Klein from North Star Community Credit Union for visiting with the 5th grade about money management for financial literacy month! The students loved learning about real world skills (and money)!
