Cavalier 7th graders had the opportunity today to participate in manufacturing day and visit area businesses such as Woodside Industries, Bordertown Retail, and CVR Industries. Thank you to all of these sponsors and businesses for opening your doors and teaching our students about local manufacturing jobs.






Good morning! Reminder that we will be hosting our ribbon cutting and open house for the new North Valley CTE building from 11-1 today. Hotdogs and chips will be served. Please come join us!
The vet science class enjoyed the company of a "bonus student" today. Students were able to practice real-life common dog restraints and muzzling today!





A strong turnout of students attended the first Cavalier FFA meeting! Students decided to and will be hosting a bake sale during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the CTE wing on Monday, September 30. Proceeds will be used to support upcoming FFA activities for our chapter.

Friday's Football game has been moved to 4:00pm due to referee availability. Friday's game will also be the Cavalier Tornado's "Jersey Night" where players honor those who have positively impacted them in some way by gifting them their away jersey to wear for the night. The players will also write a letter to the people they select as their role models explaining what they mean to them. Those letters will be posted around the Athletic Complex for fans to read throughout the night.
Cavalier students have been busy creating in the art room. Currently on display in the showcases are both 2nd and 7th grade works of art.
Activities in our Ag Ed classes this week included: ag safety work in the intro to ag class (it was ag safety week), pasta making in the 6th & 7th grade classes (an activity that closed out our intro to agriculture unit and learning about North Dakota agriculture) - thank you to the NDSU extension ladies, and a sales role-play (students chose what they wanted to sell and wrote scripts) focusing on positive communication behavior in the ag sales and service class.










Botany students have been getting their hands dirty as they get the feel for soil! Students have been learning about particle size and how to determine soil texture.




Greetings, our fire alarms did go off due to an overheated air conditioning unit. Students and staff followed our fire emergency procedures well. Thank you to our first responders for identifying the cause and getting our students and staff back into the building safely. All students, staff, and facilities are safe. School has resumed as normal.
Cavalier 4th-6th Graders are invited to sign up for a plant sciences mini camp next week after school. See attached image for more information.

The basketball cheerleaders will be doing a face painting and beads fundraiser for Spirit Day this Friday, September 20. This will be available for middle/high school from 8:00-8:25 am with elementary classes to follow.

Before starting our advertising unit, the Ag Sales and Service class visited Jeremy Ratliff's studio. Students were able to see the equipment, got a preview of a job in radio broadcasting, and heard some basics of radio advertising! Thank you, Jeremy, for hosting our class!

Homework Room is starting this week as a way to provide more support to 6-12 grade students. During homework room a Cavalier staff member is available to help students with homework. This is a drop in service available to all students in grades 6-12. Students can go to the HS Library during the following times:
Mornings Monday through Friday from 7:36-8:25AM
Afternoons Monday through Wednesday from 3:45-5:00PM
If students find this time useful, we will add more afternoons as staff is available.
